Hold Policy
Members may request to place their membership on inactive status (“on hold” or “paused”) by submitting a written request via certified mail or by completing the Hold Request Form below. Requests must be received by 11:59 PM on the 25th of the month prior to the desired hold start date. Holds must begin on the first day of a month. Retroactive holds are not permitted.
While on hold, members will be charged a monthly hold fee of $20 plus tax per adult in place of their regular dues. Members on hold may not reserve swim lanes or participate in group exercise classes. Facility access is permitted by paying the daily guest fee without reactivating the membership.
Memberships may be placed on hold for a maximum of three (3) months within any rolling twelve-month period. Once the three-month limit is reached, the membership will automatically reactivate and regular billing will resume.
All holds must last a minimum of one (1) full month. After the minimum period, members may reactivate at any time by submitting a written request via certified mail or completing the online Activation Request Form. Activation requests submitted before the one-month minimum will cancel the hold and result in a charge equal to one month of active dues.
Split Holds
If only one individual on a multi-person membership wishes to go on hold, this must be specified on the hold request by selecting “Other” as the hold reason and writing in the text box: “Only pause [name of person who wishes to be inactive.]” Children/dependents may not be placed on hold. Split hold billing will be processed as follows:
- Couple Membership – The paused member pays the $20 plus tax hold fee; the active member is billed at the applicable Single rate.
- Family Membership – The paused member pays the $20 plus tax hold fee; the active member is billed at the applicable Single-Parent rate.
12-Month Membership Holds
Holds on 12-month memberships must be for exact durations of one (1), two (2), or three (3) months. Holds may only begin on the first day of a month and end on the last day of a month.
Upon reactivation, monthly billing will resume and the 12-month contract term will be extended by the total number of months on hold, even if only one member was inactive.
Medical Holds
Exceptions to the three-month maximum may be considered for members experiencing medical complications. Requests must include a signed physician’s note stating that the member must abstain from exercise for a specified period.
Approved medical holds qualify for a reduced hold fee of $10 plus tax and may be extended for up to three (3) additional months, for a total of six (6) months on hold.
Holds and Cancellation
Inactive memberships cannot be canceled. If a Cancellation Request Form is submitted while an account is on hold, the request will authorize reactivation for the final billing cycle prior to the termination date.
