 FAQ's

Which types of membership do you offer?

There are two membership options available currently for singles and families, the first of which is a Month-to-Month memberships. With this membership, there is no long term commitment. This membership allows for a termination with a 30-day written notice and also has the flexibility to be frozen for a month or more if you're not going to be using the club. This Month-to-Month membership has a one-time initiation fee with monthly dues throughout your tenure at OAC.

The second option is our Prestige Membership where an individual or family pre-pays their yearly dues. The advantage to this option is the dues are discounted and the initiation fee is waived entirely, making this membership much less expensive. Upon expiration, the membership may be renewed at the same rate or converted to a Month-to-Month membership with no initiation fee.

Both memberships give complete 24-hour access to all regular services and programs. Please contact a Membership Representative for current pricing.

What is your guest policy?

As a member of OAC, one of your benefits includes bringing guests to the club. Members may bring as many guests as they want. The first time a guest comes to the club, that visit is free. That same person may then be a guest at $10 per visit. All out-of-town guests need to come in with an OAC member and have a valid I.D. and can use the club at $5 per visit. Such guests may then come in on a his or her own without the OAC member present (to be considered 'out of town', the guest must live at least 35 miles from Seattle).

What constitutes a family?

A family at OAC is two adults and all dependents under the age of 21 all living at the same address.

When are the busiest times in the club?

Our busy times in the club revolve around our Aerobic/Yoga classes. This is when we have the most people in the building. However, there is no specific time we would recommend you stay away because of crowds. Throughout the years, our 24-hour access has enabled us to spread our membership base throughout the day AND night.

Please note: During our busy times, parking is at a premium. We recommend utilizing all 8 of our parking lots.

Do you have parking?

There are eight private lots surrounding the club. These lots are free to our members while using the club facilities. Parking permits are distributed to members (with a valid membership card) by the Front Desk or by a Membership Representative.

Is there an extra charge for Aerobic/Yoga classes?

At OAC, we believe that variety is the key to success with any fitness program. It is because of this that we include most Aerobic and Yoga classes with each of our memberships. Members simply need show up at the scheduled class time to participate. No prior sign-ups are necessary unless otherwise indicated. A good rule of thumb with classes is to show up 5 minutes prior to class and introduce yourself to the instructor. This will give him/her an opportunity to get to know you, your skill level and find out any special needs you might have. See Class schedules

What is required in order to participate in a cycling class?

There is no fee for cycling classes for members of Olympic Athletic Club; however, sign up is required 15 minutes prior to the class start at the front desk. In addition, participants must bring a water bottle, towel and wipe down their bike after class.

What are the details about your pool?

Our pool is 18 yards long and four feet deep throughout. It is four lanes wide and primarily used for lap swimming and family activities. Besides being open 24 hours a day, OAC pool is a salt-based chlorine pool (salt = sodium chloride which a natural form of chlorine; however, it's much easier on your hair, skin and clothing). Our pool temperature is maintained between 82-84 degrees and the adjoining hot tub is between 102-104 degrees. There are scheduled times for open swim, lap swim and family swim. Please refer to our monthly pool schedule for specific times.

Do you offer childcare?

OAC is proud to offer childcare. Reservations may be made 24 hours in advance beginning at 8 AM and are highly encouraged in order to secure a specific time.

What equipment can children use, and at what age?

Children under the age of 13 may participate in swimming, racquetball and basketball. Adult supervision required. Children ages 13 and up would have full access to all activities after completing an orientation class with one of our trainers. When the class has been completed, the child would then get his/her membership card and would be able to use the club on their own from 9 AM until 10 PM. However, NO ONE under 18 may bring in guests.

What are the Personal Trainers backgrounds and what do they charge?

OAC Personal Trainers are individuals who work to motivate and educate clients about physical fitness and self-improvement. OAC trainers also specialize in rehabilitation from injuries, sport-specific skills and special populations. Personal training rates work on a sliding scale based on the number of sessions you purchase (each session lasts one hour). Please see a trainer or one of our Front Desk staff for current rates.
